Hunting Land for Lease Details:
Want to spend quality time with your family or friends? Here is the property you have been looking for! This property is about 80% hardwoods with numerous trails and senderos cut for excellent stand locations. There is a great mix of trees including post, blackjack and pin oaks and it is covered with American Beautyberry which will draw them in this fall. There are several large areas that act as big buck sanctuaries and are very thick with briars and underbrush. Freestone County has plenty of deer and is known for producing trophies. The deer will hold on this property if not pressured too much. Food plots can be planted in openings and feeders can be used, but plan on fencing to keep out cattle/hogs. During my inspection all cattle were fenced out of the area, but the owner cannot guarantee he won't need the area during hunting seasons. One 12' tower blind is provided. The property is adjacent to the large Cottonwood creek. There is a 10 acre lake stocked with bass and crappie which can be fished catch and release only. Duck hunting will be great and is included in lease. I saw over 200 doves feeding on the dove weeds in the open fields. The landowner lives just outside this lease area to the south. Camping is allowed but there is no water or electricity. Cabins are available on Richland Chambers Lake 5 miles away, and there are several hotels in Fairfield 11.5 miles south. ATV use is OK and the fence lines are all cleared. This place is covered with rubs and scrapes as well as deer, hog and varmint tracks. Freestone County is under the TPWD antler restrictions which allow one mature buck and one cull per hunter. The landowner has an additional three antlerless tags for your group to use. This lease is effective September 1-January 31 and includes deer, duck, hogs, dove, bobcat, coyotes and fishing. No spotlighting is allowed and all spent shotgun shells must be removed. Landowner must be notified before inspection so call the agent to make an appointment to inspect this property before someone beats you to it.
