"Went out to the stand about 7:00 on Halloween morning. when I entered the woods, I spooked a good buck out right under my stand. I was thinking that I ruined my hunt for the morning. Right at day break I was watching a fawn doe about 30 yards from the stand that came out of the bedding area and she was mealing around eating acorns. I was hearing sticks breaking and I just thought it was a few squirrels so I kept my eye on that fawn doe. When I looked toward the direction where I heard sticks breaking, I caught glimpse of a buck. When I first looked at him I thought he was a little small, but as he got closer and closer he put his head up like he was trying to wind me. All I saw was brow tines and I thought to myself he was a shooter. He was now about 25 yards broad side when I drew on him and smoked him. He ran no further than 5 yards and piled up. I was only in th stand for about an hour when i took this big 8 point."
