Corkscrew

This mature buck was shot on Base Camp Lease in Monroe County, Ohio during the 2016 January muzzleloader season. This buck eluded us the entire season while being one of the most visible deer on camera. It wasn't until Sunday January 10th that our paths would cross. The weather was marginal at best with high winds in the forecast. We settled into one of our ground blinds early in the afternoon overlooking one of our Biologic food plots. Right at last light, this buck we nicknamed Corkscrew came up out of the creek bottom. With me behind the camera, my dad made a perfect shot at 100 yards. We had to wait until the next day to recover the deer due to darkness and a lack of blood despite the perfect shot. This is my dad's first Ohio buck all captured on film and the first deer we have harvested together. Memories that will last a lifetime.
