This hunting lease is leased and not available.
***ARCHERY LEASE ONLY***
Let me start with why this lease is archery-only. On these 19 acres, there is no where you can legally hunt with a firearm. The Illinois regulation requires hunters to be 300 yards from any inhabited dwelling. This means no one will be hunting during firearm or muzzleloader seasons. However, if you choose, you can purchase a firearm permit and still hunt during firearm seasons using your bow. Just keep in mind that if you harvest a deer with your bow, you must tag it using your firearm tag.
This property is going to make for a great little lease for a couple of guys or even a parent and child. The timber has a great layer of underbrush, there was plenty of deer sign, a creek that runs through the property and the entire north section is bordered by row crops. You have large blocks of timber connecting from the east and the southeast corner. To me, this is the type of lease where the unexpected can happen. Homes in the area, deer are somewhat accustomed to noise, and it's a great spot for a mature buck to hang and go undetected. Plus, they don't need to go far to feed in the ag fields to the north.
NOTE: the photos you see on the row crops are NOT on this property. They are on the bordering property to the north.
