This 50-acre farm sits about 25 minutes southwest of Carbondale and offers a solid mix of timber, pasture, and water. The southwest corner of the property connects directly to 40 acres of the Shawnee National Forest, giving you even more acreage to hunt. Because we're coming up on the end of August, I wanted to get this lease out to you immediately, so I haven't walked the property yet. This description is based on the aerial photo and my conversation with the landowner. From what I can see, there's big timber surrounding the east, west, and north sides. A pond and a stream run through the property, providing a steady water source for wildlife and cattle. The landowner mentioned that he regularly sees deer on the property, which is always a good sign. And if you want to expand your hunting opportunities, head about 20 minutes east and you'll find yourself in over 5,000 acres of the Shawnee National Forest. This could turn out to be a great little farm. Again, I haven't personally been on-site yet, so if you're interested, request driving directions and take a look for yourself.
