This hunting lease is leased and not available.
This is a 120-acre farm being offered for lease in Hardin County, IL. The property is all timber and very secluded, sitting approximately two and a half miles off the nearest main road. Access is provided by a mine road that runs through the property and is used very little according to the landowner. With the information from the landowner and the aerial photo, I think this solid timber tract has strong potential. The farm features rolling timber with good cover throughout and two seasonal creeks that run through the property, providing natural travel corridors and water sources for wildlife. The layout offers multiple stand locations and natural funnels created by the terrain and timber edges. With the farm being so secluded, you should have little hunting pressure around you. Based on the aerial photo, this looks to be a solid property, especially if you are wanting privacy and minimal disturbance. This property should also offer plenty of opportunities for turkey hunting. Because of the recent snow storm, I have not yet walked the property. We received just about a foot of snow, and many county roads are still very icy and snow covered. Plus, the mine road leading into this farm has probably not been plowed at all. So, when you drive there to inspect, be smart and bring an ATV in case the mine road is still heavily covered in snow.
