What an opportunity for BCL members! Situated along the banks of Wildcat Creek, this farm is a true 5-star property. Ground of this caliber is hard to come by, and I was fired up to check it out and it absolutely delivered.
Multiple large rubs from this season were observed, with deer sign scattered throughout the property. The L-shaped timber features an outstanding inside corner with nearby buck staging areas that set up perfectly for rut-time stands. As the timber drops down into the creek bottom, several well-defined trails and prime creek crossings jump out as excellent hunting locations. Within minutes of my inspection, I had at least half a dozen stand locations mapped out in my head.
One of my favorite spots - made even better when six does blew out of it was a small cluster of trees about 50 yards away from the timber on the North side of the property. Decoy users, take note: this location could be special. Check out the photos and make sure to see this area for yourself.
Access is from the northwest side of the property. For the hardcore hunter, there's also the option to use the canoe launch across the bridge and slip in from the south on a cold-front wind. Late October can't get here soon enough!
The field will be in a rotating row crop system, and the surrounding area is loaded with high-quality habitat.
Stay off the field with any vehicle when the crops are in or the field is wet
ATV okay for hunting related purposes only
