150 acres in Taylor County. This is a Deer hunting lease only. This gentle rolling property has a good mix of cover and crops on it. The cover is a combination of mature hard woods, thick regrowth areas, pines, marshy areas, and waterways. The crops are a mix of row crops and hay fields. Some pasturing takes place but mostly on the open ground. There was no shortage of deer sign. Tracks, trails, rubs, and scrapes were all present during my inspection. The landowner told me he regularly sees deer feeding in the crop fields. Some areas of thick cover are perfect bedding spots. Several open areas in the timber can provide great ambush spots. A marshy wetland area in the southeast corner of the property could provide some nice pinch points to harvest deer. Some of the logging trails are growing in and with a little maintenance they can provide stealthy access to parts of the property. Any existing stands on the property can be used at your discretion. If traveling through any gates, please close them after passing through them. The landowners would like to meet the hunters initially. Be respectful of all boundaries. Respectful use of ATV's is allowed for hunting related activities when weather and ground conditions permit. No tree cutting. No use of nails, screws, or screw in tree steps is allowed.
