*Do NOT befriend their dog. If you pet the dog, in his mind, ya'll have now become friends and he will want to follow you. Just leave the dog alone. The landowners will put the dog in the house, so this won't happen. That's why it's important you let them know you are coming. NO the dog does not run around on the farm.
