This hunting lease is leased and not available.
This is a very good farm in Henry County that sits directly on the Knox County line. A quality hunting lease in an area that has built a reputation for producing mature bucks over the years. While walking the property, I jumped several deer and was able to photograph one that stood long enough to have its picture taken before running off. Deer sign was abundant throughout the farm. The farm consists of timber, row crops, thick underbrush, a pond, and a seasonal creek. Several fingers of timber extend into the surrounding agricultural fields, creating natural pinch points where deer movement can be predictable at times. These areas should be particularly productive during the early season, pre-rut, and rut, as bucks will likely scent check these fingers while traveling between bedding and feeding areas.
While the aerial provides a decent overview of the property, it doesn't fully capture the amount of cover and quality deer habitat present throughout the farm. The property also benefits from excellent surrounding habitat, including a large block of timber on the south side of the road. The combination of timber, row crops, water, and thick cover gives deer everything they need within the immediate area. The pond and seasonal creek provide water, while the mix of cover and edge habitat creates numerous stand location options. I also found several natural funnels throughout the property that could be productive stand locations depending on wind direction and the time of year. From the amount of deer sign observed to the numerous travel routes and pinch points throughout the farm, this property appears well suited for hunters looking to target deer throughout the early season, pre-rut, and rut.
