This hunting lease is leased and not available.
This farm is on the big buck corridor of Route 33 between Dublin and Marysville. Trophy hunters in the know understand what I mean. The main section of woods is approximately 39 acres, is protected by the expressway to the south, and is over a half mile from any road and prying eyes. This woodlot has hundreds of rubs in it, as it is the bedding area for a big bachelor group of bucks in the summer. Also, the fence rows are 10 yards wide and full of white oaks. Then, to top it off, you have two sections on a creek to the north to hunt. These two river funnels are full of sign and are awesome during the rut.
The main woods was select cut in early 2013 and has grown up into super thick bedding cover. The property was not hunted in 2013, and I personally hunted it a few times in 2014. We saw maybe the largest buck we have ever seen in the wild on this property, plus about four other good shooters. We passed on a couple of the other shooters while trying to hunt the giant. As many as a dozen deer per sit came by my stand. Unfortunately I scored on a great buck on another farm, so the giant is still out there as far as I know. So, for a couple seasons there was not a deer taken from this property.
In my opinion this is one of the very best areas in Ohio to hunt for mature whitetails. The hunters on the other farms I have in this area have been scoring on some giants. Landowner removed a few tree lines in 2019. Respectful ATV use and camping is ok, but hotels and restaurants are just minutes away.
