Josh grew up in northwest Ohio hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather hunting mostly small game, waterfowl and whitetail deer. He followed that passion for the outdoors to college where he received a degree in Wildlife Management. During his time at college, he was fortunate enough to spend his falls in west central Illinois, Kansas and Iowa guiding whitetail hunts and setting up farms for an outfitter. Here he learned a lot about hunting truly mature, free-range whitetails. With that newly honed knowledge and an extreme passion for habitat work, the family farm started seeing extreme success. Now Josh manages land in northwest Ohio with his family for quality whitetail hunting and abundant wildlife.
Josh’s main passion, when not spending time with his family, is sitting in a bow stand in the fall. However, he still loves watching the sun come up over a wetland or walking through a native grass field to flush some birds when he can.
Josh has a lot of professional experience when it comes to the outdoors. He worked for 13 years with the Division of Wildlife for both Ohio and Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources as a land manager before returning to Ohio in 2020 to get closer to family. He also passed his Certified Crop adviser testing in 2014. Since that time, he started as a Land Specialist and Land Management Consultant with Base Camp Country Real Estate and is now proud to call Base Camp Leasing home as well. Josh has always had a passion for introducing new hunters to the outdoors, and now with the know-how and experience of Base Camp Leasing, he will be able to connect hunters and landowners together to facilitate lasting memories for years to come.
