40 years ago, I was born and raised on a farm in Central Ohio, and for the past 14 incredible years, I've proudly called South Texas my home. From the very moment I arrived, I've thrown myself into applying my extensive hunting wisdom to truly understand the unique landscapes and incredible wildlife of this magnificent state. While I've been fortunate to harvest numerous trophy whitetails over the years, my expertise runs far, far deeper than just the shot. It's an all-year dedication, a relentless pursuit that includes meticulous work with game cameras, extensive intelligence gathering, strategic feeder and mineral placement, and an almost obsessive understanding of natural vegetation, native fruit trees, critical water sources, bottlenecks, traveling corridors and vital bedding areas. I am exceptionally knowledgeable about all phases of deer hunting, including the intricate influence of moon phases and what it profoundly takes to consistently grow and harvest truly mature bucks.
My passion extends fervently beyond whitetails to include an avid pursuit of dove, pronghorn, wild sheep, and Axis deer, alongside duck, goose, hog, and turkey hunting – if it breathes and roams in the Texas outdoors, I'm passionate about it. My passion also extends to the water as a seasoned professional bass angler fishing club circuits and charity events and a keen surf fisherman, and I proudly share that expertise as a TPWD Angler and Fly Fishing Instructor, dedicating my springs to fostering the next generation of ethical outdoors enthusiasts. I've conducted extensive, boots-on-the-ground research across my entire territory, from Central and South Texas to the majestic mountain ranges of West Texas, tirelessly scouting for those premier hunting grounds.
What truly ignites my drive is connecting like-minded hunters who are committed not only to harvesting game but also to actively managing and growing the herd. I prioritize safety above all else, fostering an environment where hunters can enjoy the absolute best possible experience on their lease. For me, it's about building unbreakable trust and lasting relationships, ensuring sustainable hunting grounds are available for generations to come. It's about the deep satisfaction of filling freezers with wild game, finding immense joy and fulfillment in every single harvest (because it's truly not always about tagging out!), and the profound passion and dedication that goes into creating a premier hunt camp where families and friends can forge lifelong, cherished memories.
My personal life is now secured, with my children grown and my amazing wife by my side, allowing me to pour every ounce of my energy into this exciting new chapter. Working with Base Camp Leasing isn't just a job; it lets me live and breathe my deep connection to the sport and the outdoors every single day. Beyond the field, my remote work providing sustainable employment in environmental services and commercial landscaping for adults with disabilities also allows me to actively engage in volunteering and educational programs in partnership with TPWD, giving me unparalleled statewide flexibility. I am exceptionally passionate about mentoring the next generation of hunters, striving to ensure youth hunters are guided correctly and have access to premium grounds where they can lay down roots for years to come.
