This farm is located in one of Southern Michigan's well-known big buck counties and offers an excellent mix of habitat for both deer and turkey hunting. The farm consists of 120 acres, including 20 acres of rolling row-crop field and 100 acres of timber and wetlands.
Fresh deer sign was abundant throughout the property during my inspection. The combination of timber, wetlands, agricultural food sources, and Bear Creek creates excellent habitat and natural travel corridors for whitetails. Bear Creek winds through the northern portion of the timber, adding both scenic value and another key feature for wildlife movement. See all the pictures!
I found numerous locations that would make productive stand sites, with opportunities to hunt field edges, timber funnels, creek crossings, and interior bedding transitions.
Access by ATV or e-bike is available from the east side of the timber via an established ATV crossing that connects to a trail running through the center of the property. Please note that reaching this ATV crossing may require waiting until the 2026 crops have been harvested.
The landowner understands that improved access will enhance the hunting experience and has indicated a willingness to meet with the lessee to discuss reopening an old logging trail on the northwest side of the property. They are also open to the possibility of installing a removable creek crossing to further improve access.
If easy ATV access is not a priority, the property is ready to hunt now. Enter along the field edge with your bow and pack in your stand or saddle, and you'll be set to hunt immediately.
During my final inspection in March 2026, I observed a large flock of wild turkeys and several deer while walking the property, reflecting the quality of the habitat.
This property has been inspected and is now approved for release to a BCL member.
