Hunting Land for Lease Details: This hunting lease is leased and not available. There was a fresh snow the night before I stepped on to this Grand Traverse County property. It was like walking into Mother Nature's living room after an all-night party. There was evidence everywhere of which critters attended the gathering. I saw raccoon, bobcat, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, grouse and bird tracks. Whitetail tracks were abundant and crossing all through the area. There were deep runs between the hills and rubs on the young trees that sprouted up after a clear cut section a few years ago.

This property is perfectly located on the edge of vast forest and miles of agriculture in Grand Traverse County, which is one of the counties in Michigan that was given an antler size restriction a few years ago and is now producing some very nice large bucks. The property is hilly and mostly wooded with a few open areas. About 1/4 of the property was clear cut several years ago and is growing in nicely. The old logging roads make for nice easy access to the back of the property.

There are paved year around maintained roads until you get within a quarter mile of the property. From there you take a good seasonal road back to some great hunting. The owner says it is generally open through rifle deer season except when we have an early snow. When I inspected the property in January it took me 10 minutes to walk from the paved road.

There is a nice little camping spot next to the logging road near the front of the property. Respectful ATV use for hunting is allowed. No screw in steps. This property limited to a 2.5% annual price increase.
